Juicing Cannabis Leads to Improved Health Benefits

The benefits of cannabis have become well documented in recent years and we’ve only just begun to uncover the treasures this plant has to provide. While the plant itself has a lot to offer, the method of delivery will definitely play a part in how the medicinal effects works. Juicing cannabis has become a new trend in getting the benefits of marijuana without the high. In its raw state, the juice has no psychoactive effects and it provides a higher concentration of the compounds that make marijuana a medicinal treasure.

The Benefits of THC and CBD

Only fresh marijuana that hasn’t undergone drying and curing can be used in juicing.

For some conditions, the psychoactive euphoric effects that marijuana delivers through the compound THC is an essential part of the medicinal value. This can be the case with some types of autism as well as PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) and insomnia. But THC also has benefits that don’t relate to the psychoactive elements such as being able to block pain signals to the brain, providing pain relief. It will also reduce nausea and vomiting and the side effects of chemotherapy. It stimulates the appetite, treats and prevents asthma attacks and relieves symptoms of glaucoma.

For other conditions, especially those that result in seizures and chronic pain such as epilepsy, cancer, arthritis, degenerative disorders, Crohn’s disease, lupus and many more, the CBD compound is essential. It has anti-inflammatory, anticonvulsant, anti-depressant, anti-tumor/anti-cancer, antipsychotic and antiemetic (reduces nausea and vomiting) effects that can help to treat many conditions.

Juicing Cannabis Preserves THCA and CBDA

Heat turns the THCA (Tetrahydrocannabinolic-acid) in raw marijuana into THC, its psychoactive form. It also turns CBDA (Cannabidiolic-acid) into CBD. In its raw form, humans can process much more THCA and CBDA than what can be processed when it is smoked. Dr. William Courtney, who is a specialist in raw cannabis, said, “if you don’t heat marijuana, you can go up to five or six hundred milligrams and use the plant strictly as a dietary supplement by upping the anti-oxidant and neuro-protective levels which come into play at hundreds of milligrams of CBDA and THCA. It is this dramatic increase in dose from 10 mg of psychoactive THC to the 500 mg – 1,000 mg of non-psychoactive THCA, CBDA, and CBGA that comprises the primary difference between traditional medical marijuana treatments and using cannabis as a dietary supplement.”

Cannabinoids as an Anti-Inflammatory

Cannabinoids, abundant in cannabis juice, have been shown to reduce inflammation by improving the body’s communication.

A very powerful medicinal aspect of marijuana is its anti-inflammatory effects. Inflammation is considered to be the root cause of all disease as well as the visible signs of ageing. It is connected to Alzheimer’s, heart disease, cancer and many other diseases and disorders. One of the main causes of inflammation results from a lack of communication between cells. Immune cells are constantly being attacked and when they are, something needs to communicate with the nerve cells to tell them to calm down; otherwise inflammation will result. Cannabinoids provide nerve cells with this two-way communication system that prevents and reduces inflammation.

Humans have natural cannabinoids in the body called endocannabinoids. They connect to receptors in the body regulating the immune system, nervous system and health of bones. When something goes wrong within any of these systems, cannabinoids can help to bring them back into balance.

Marijuana Juice Recipe

According to Dr. William Courtney, the best method for juicing cannabis is to use 15 fresh leaves and two large (2-4 inches long) fresh buds. It’s important to use fresh marijuana. Do not use the dried herb. The herb must be raw and the fresher, the better. Blend it with another vegetable (like carrot) and then make the ratio 1 part cannabis, 10 parts carrot or any other vegetable. Spilt this mixture into 3 serves and either drink one part with every meal, 3 times a day or seal it tightly in the refrigerator and have it once a day over 3 days for a lighter dose. Do not drink it after 3 days. You may be able to get fresh herb from your local dispensary.

Juicing cannabis is a powerful way to get the medicinal benefits of marijuana in a concentrated dosage. For those suffering with debilitating issues it will feel like a godsend!
